One Step Closer

In the book Anne of Green Gables, Anne is making mistake after mistake with her new family, and at one point, she turns to Marilla and says:

"But have you ever noticed one encouraging thing about me, Marilla? I never make the same mistake twice."

Love it. Adopted it. Especially in baking.

Unfortunately I am incredible at coming up with new mistakes when making cake pops. Here is a blue cupcake version I created for the baby brunch. I am much better at making the dough mix, and I actually bought the right supplies this time, but chocolate chips are just too heavy and thick, even when melted with a little shortening.

But they taste so good. How could I use the baking chocolate when chocolate chips taste so much better?

I guess one day I will sacrifice the taste for the presentation. Anyway, here is the latest version... And not to worry: I am not easily discouraged.

To see what they should look like, look here.

  1. Corie, not sure if you remember me from DT, freshman year. But I found your blog - what fun stuff! I'm a huge Anne fan, too. ;-)
